Integrated Community Development Association Was Incorporated In 1990 As A Non Profit Voluntary Social Development Organization And Was Registered With The Department Of Social Services On 22 November 1992 To Start Various Kinds Of Development Activities. ICDA Started Micro Credit Program Through Sadar Branch By Self Finance In 1997. The Organization Extended Micro Credit Program After Getting The Partnership With PKSF On 2000. At Present The Organization Is Being Operated At 302 Villages Of 24 Unions & 30 Wards Of Barisal City Corporation Through 09 Branch Offices Of Barisal Sadar, Babugonj, Uzirpur, Banaripara & Muladi Upazilla And The Direct Beneficiaries Of The Program Are 8254 Family Members.
In Fact, Micro Credit Program Was Initiated In 1973 After The Liberation War Of Bangladesh. In The Long Run The Program Was Recognized In Home & Abroad. Though Micro Credit Is A Controversial Program, The Govt. Has Taken Initiatives Regarding This. However, I Think Micro Credit Is Assistance But Not The Solution To Reduce Poverty. Micro Credit Program May Be Succeeded When Sustainable Working Opportunity Will Be Created. Besides This Proper Initiatives Should Be Taken On Health, Education, Agriculture, Housing, Food And Social Security To Develop The Life Standard Of Community People.
Since Its Inception The Organization Is Trying Its Level Best To Serve The Purposes. Being A Women Friendly Organization ICDA Operates Women Development Program Highlighting The Women Rights Program.
